SUNRISE SAMBA – Lowestoft’s Community Samba Band

Open to all ages and experience levels, our community samba band is a great opportunity for a fun, social and expressive activity.  The band rehearses weekly on a Tuesday and takes part in a range of performances and events throughout the year. You may have seen them at the First Light Festival, Halloween at the Pier or Norwich Lord Mayor’s Procession.

The band started in April 2023.  It is lead by Marcus Patteson (Rabo de Foguete) an experienced local Samba tutor and carnivalist.  They play a range of traditional and contemporary grooves drawn from Brazilian (and other) carnival.  Sunrise Samba can also be booked for a range of events.  Contact us for a price.

We will be running inductions sessions for the band in March and April.

Every Tuesday from 3 March to 28 April, 7.30 to 8.30pm (no session 7 April)

£4/session

No experience necessary and all instruments supplied.

Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Marina Monkeys is our new group for babies and toddlers.

This group will give tasters in art, song, dance, storytelling, imaginative and messy play. Engaging all the senses, you and your little ones will have fun through creative play.

The orchestra meets weekly at the Marina Theatre, working towards performances at the theatre and other locations in and around Lowestoft throughout the year.

Our fun and relaxed music groups are a perfect way to get to know new friends, learn or develop your musical skills and flex your creative muscles!

For anyone aged 18+. No experience or equipment necessary – just turn up and our fantastic facilitators will get you making sweet sweet music.
