We’re searching for a new Choir Leader

The Marina Theatre are looking for a fun, relaxed and engaging choir leader to take on their successful Monday evening choir.  The choir has been running since October 2018 and has built up a regular attendance of 25 passionate singers, with new members joining all the time.  The ideal candidate will have experience leading a regular choir group, be willing to spend time getting to know the members of the group, and keen to embrace performance opportunities for the group as they arise.

The sessions are held every Monday evening at the Marina Theatre, Lowestoft, from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Fee: £50 per session.

We’re on the search for Freelance Creative Arts Practitioners

The Marina Theatre is looking for creative arts facilitators and practitioners to join our freelance pool and help support our youth, education and community offer.

We are keen to hear from people with the following experience and skills:

  • A range of practical performing arts skills.
  • Experience of workshop planning and delivery
  • Experience of working with young people aged between 5-18 years old
  • Experience of directing young people in theatrical productions
  • Experience working with community groups and people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Self-motivated, well-organised and efficient
  • Experience managing potentially complex participants and behaviours
  • Co-facilitation experience

All practitioners will be employed on a freelance basis and must have an up to date DBS check.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Fancy Performing or Helping with Activities?

We are looking to add to our team of volunteers for our Alternative Lowestoft event on Saturday 20th July. We’re looking for HELPERS and FLASHMOB volunteers.

Volunteering for Alternative Lowestoft is an opportunity to meet new people, support Lowestoft’s developing art scene and encourage people to view our lovely seaside town in a completely new light.

We’re looking for people to HELPERS to help with:

  • Craft activities
  • Setting up a mini beach in the town centre
  • Running activities
  • Assisting professional actors during a performance

(Helper volunteers would need to be available 11am – 3pm and/or 2pm – 6pm on 20th July)

We’re also looking for FLASHMOB volunteers to:

  • Be part of our Alternative Lowestoft performance alongside a team of professional actors

(Flashmob volunteers would need to be available 6pm – 8pm on Tuesday 16th July and 5:30pm – 8pm on 19th July, and available for at least 2 out of 4 performances on 20th July – 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm)

Actors Required for Outdoor Performance

We are looking to cast 3 actors, 2 female and 1 male for an outdoor promenade performance in the centre of Lowestoft on 20th July.

Rehearsal dates:

Wednesday 10th July (can be flexible with availability on this date)

Monday 15th July

Tuesday 16th July

Wednesday 17th July

Thursday 18th July

Friday 19th July

Saturday 20th July (Performance Day)
