Come and join Simon Bridge who has previously worked as an educational workshop lead for Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

He has led numerous workshops in schools, helping children and young people to discover their own creativity, develop characters and build a narrative.

Special FX and Theatrical Make Up Workshop

This session will be led by one of our facilitators who has trained in theatrical makeup and can share their knowledge and experience with young people.

Using the same products used by professional theatre and film companies, participants can learn how to create cuts, bruises, burns and scars using theatrical makeup.

Learn how to age someone, create light and shade and create your own fun theatrical characters using stage makeup.

Sunrise Film Festival

We’re thrilled to have teamed up once again with Sunrise Film Festival, as it marks it’s return to Lowestoft for its most ambitious 4th edition yet! From Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 May, experience 187 short films, special screenings, VR experiences, and industry talks, all celebrating the power of storytelling.

With a record number of entries this year, totalling 124 hours of film, our 2025 lineup is more diverse, thought-provoking, and bolder than ever. The festival’s curators have helped shape an exciting in-competition selection, now featuring films from around the world, and once again F-Rated with 54% of the short films screening being made by female/non-binary led teams or Directors.

There’s something for everyone from shorts spanning drama, comedy, documentary, animation, experimental films, and genre-bending narratives, to the World Premiere of the Lowestoft-produced online series Time Travelling With Myself, and a special screening of Memoir of A Snail from Academy Award Winning visionary Adam Elliot.
