Where are the nearest car parks?

While we don't have on-site parking, there are several convenient car parks just a short walk away, with free parking available after 6pm. For long-stay parking before 6pm, we recommend Whapload Road car park. Additional options can be found near Lowestoft Library. For more information, visit our How To Find Us page HERE

What are your Box Office Opening Times?

Our Box Office phone lines are open 9:30am - 3pm, Tue - Fri, and 9:30am - 2:30pm on Saturdays. Please call 01502 533200 to talk to a member of our team. If you can't get through straight away, please leave a message and a member of our team will call you back as soon as they can.

Why is there a booking fee?

The Marina is a receiving theatre.  This means we don’t make our own shows, we buy them in.  On average we receive about 20% of the ticket price for the shows that you see – so for every £1 you spend on a ticket we get about 20p. The rest of the ticket price goes to the promoters, artist and producers.  Charging a booking fee ensures that 100% of this extra revenue comes directly to the Marina Theatre. The last time we increased our booking fee was in April 2023.

Are there any exemptions on booking fees?

Yes. If you purchase a Marina Plus membership, the booking fees on your order will be waived. The membership costs £29, or £26 for Seniors or Students. In addition to removing booking fees, the membership also provides several benefits, including discounts on selected performances, films, and screenings, as well as priority booking for certain shows.

How do I find out what time a show finishes?

Where we can, we will try to add the running time of a show to their event listing page on our website. You can enquire with our Box Office, who will do their best to find out for you. Alternatively, please ask when you arrive on the evening and a member of our front of house team will let you know. Please note any end times we list are approximates and may differ slightly on the night.

Will I still be allowed in if I arrive late?

Certain shows will have restrictions on when to let in latecomers to a performance, this will normally be in between songs or a scene change.

What time do the Cafe and the Theatre Lounge open before show?

Our Cafe will open 90 minutes before a live show and 60 minutes before a screening or film. Our theatre lounge will open 60 minutes before show.

Do you sell alcohol?

Yes, we sell alcohol in our cafe, theatre lounge and kiosk. Only alcohol bought from the Marina Theatre can be consumed on the premises.

Can I take drinks into the auditorium?

Yes, you can. Drinks in glass will be transferred to plastic for you to take into the auditorium. If you are sitting on AA in the circle please do not put any items, including drinks on the ledge in front of you.

Can I take photographs and videos of the show?

Photographs and videos are not permitted during performances unless you are called do so by the act on stage.

Can I smoke/vape inside the venue?

Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited inside the premises.

Can I dance during the show?

To ensure everyone enjoys their experience, please be considerate of others. We are an inclusive venue where people enjoy performances in different ways. Be mindful if you choose to dance, stand or sing so that you are not causing a disturbance to others. Blocking someone else's view is unfair, especially if that person is unable to stand.

Do you provide booster seats?

Unfortunately, we no longer provide booster seats. If needed, you can bring your own.

Do you do bag checks?

Occasionally we will ask to check your bag on arrival. Please refrain from bringing bags that are larger than A4 in size.

I want to offer feedback, who do I contact?
