Feedback from Previous Sessions
“I learnt about trying to project your voice and I became more confident with speaking out and I thank them for the experience!”
“I really liked it because it made me do things I’ve never done before, for example putting my hand up more and I really want to do it again.”
“I found it fun working with people I normally don’t work with. I found this very intriguing. I had loads of fun listening to other people’s play.
“It made me happier to make more friends from the other class and I enjoyed playing the games. We got to know more people and I really, really want to do it again because it was fun.”
Below are some examples of the work we can offer.
We have a range of workshops dedicated to the Bard, including our Introduction to Shakespeare workshop, designed to give groups an insight into his stories, themes and language and to help take away “The Fear.” Our Understanding and Performance workshop delves deeper into the performance elements of Shakespeare and provides groups with a number of exercises and acting techniques to make the characters come to life. We’re also more than happy to deliver Play Specific workshops on the text of your choice, really getting to the heart of the drama and help unpick the larger themes and plot elements.
Curriculum Focused Workshops and Projects
We are able to offer bespoke individual and extended workshop activities based around curriculum subjects. We tailor our workshops to fit your needs and are extremely flexible in our approach. We are always happy to discuss and plan with you.
Introduction to Theatre
These sessions are intended to provide groups with an insight into the many and varied aspects of the theatre world, from acting and dancing to technical theatre, make up and marketing. Students will come out with a greater understanding of the kind of work and career paths that exist within the creative arts.
Play in a Day
Up for a challenge? We’ll work with a class of students and help them take a play from initial idea to performance. The group will pick the theme and we’ll incorporate performance, design and production skills along the way. This is a great team-bonding and confidence building day!
Play in a Week – Schools
These special projects give students a chance to build a play up from scratch, acting, writing and directing as they go. Along the way they will learn production and design skills, technical theatre work, make props, pick costumes and even design the posters, all in readiness for a Friday afternoon performance! We can easily incorporate budget caps and financial challenges into the week, to challenge those maths skills! This is a great opportunity for students to work together on a project, take ownership of their work and create something they can be proud of.
We offer an array of specialist skills workshops, including but not limited to Stage Combat, Creative Writing, Improvisation, Technical Theatre (Lighting and Sound) and even Marketing and Front of House. Delivered by experienced professionals, these sessions are ideal to introduce a group to a skill or to help expand their understanding and appreciation of it. Please check for availability of the workshops, some may not always be available.
Tours and Group Bookings
Our tours pull back the curtain on the workings of a professional theatre. Groups will explore the building and its history and gain an insight into how a working theatre operates. There will a chance to get on the stage and have an actor’s eye view of our 770 seat auditorium. We can accommodate large group bookings for shows, why not take a tour and then watch a performance in the evening?
Conferences and Events
We are also happy to host events and conferences at the Marina, our auditorium makes the ideal space for a big awards evening or assembly and we have a smaller space ideal for meetings and CPD sessions.

We cover a range of topics, from improvisation, directing, performance skills, dance, creative writing and more.
