Marina Theatre to host StartEast networking event!

The Marina Theatre is delighted to be hosting an exciting ‘Network Jam’ as part of a new initiative to help grow creative businesses.

StartEast plans to develop and deliver business support and investment for artists and creative people planning to develop and grow a cultural business.

This support will be bespoke; created and delivered by cultural specialists with experience and knowledge of the market place for cultural goods and services and business development tools.

The Network Jam at the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft is designed to offer hands on, practical workshops around business development.

Network jams are active, fun, informative and free to join!

The event, from 10am until 4.30pm on Thursday, October 12, will take place in our first floor lounge space – which requires access via stairs.

The StartEast Team and advisors will be here throughout the day delivering focused sessions and offering advice and guidance.

The New Anglia Cultural Board has developed this project to make Norfolk and Suffolk places where enterprising, creative people can start up and build sustainable, cultural enterprises.

It will seek to build a resilient, enterprising and sustainable, diverse cultural sector and support a wide range of business models including social and community enterprise and the third sector.

The project will be targeted at cultural sole traders, small/medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and new start-ups with the ambition to build a business or social enterprise, working in Norfolk and/or Suffolk. We will support them to grow, to expand into new markets, to secure and extend current and new contracts and to increase their turnover and productivity.

The initiative has been funded by £500k from Arts Council England’s Local Creative Growth Fund and £604k from European Regional Development Funding.
