Bring the whole family to explore, discover and create with the FREE Marina Theatre Family Open Day!

Saturday 16th June 2018 from 10am to 4pm!

To help launch Once Upon A Festival at the Marina, come and join us for our ‘Junk Jamboree’ in conjunction with ROJO arts.

Join us for a day of music, crafts and fun! After an amazing event last year, we are once again opening our doors to families to join us for another day of activities free of charge. Here is a taster of what will be on offer on the day…

The Junk Orchestra by Saul Eisenberg

Join Mr Junkman and discover the sonic delight of everyday objects rescued from the urban wasteland. Learn how to build your own mini junk orchestra at home or in class. Experience and discover music from the twilight zone to foot stomping fun.

Crafts with Rojo

Rojo Art are a group of artists who collaborate with each other and with local people in many different ways: as artists; educators; researchers. Rojo will be running craft activities throughout the day, so why not join them in making your own creations.

There will also be story telling sessions, based on the themes of recycling, available to enjoy.

In essence, we have a whole host of fun activities for all ages, whether you’re a seasoned theatre-goer or just a little curious, there will be something for you.

The whole day is free so please pop in between 10am and 4pm to enjoy the fun – NO NEED TO BOOK!

The timings for the 30min Junk Orchestra performances are:

11am, 12pm, 1pm

Rojo workshops will follow each performance:

11.40am, 12.40pm, 1.40pm
