Welcome to the new season at the Marina Theatre, over the coming months we are pleased to welcome a number of major artistes and productions, many for the very first time in Lowestoft and a few favourites returning by popular demand.
Season highlights not to be missed include Willy Russell’s magnificent Blood Brothers starring Lyn Paul, A brand new production of the classic Hi De Hi,Over The Rainbow -the Eva Cassidy Story and direct from the West End - relive a golden era of radio comedy, Stop Messing About!
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra enters an unprecedented sixth year of residency and full details can be found in the centre pages, before that they perform a spectacular Russian Gala in November.
Major artistes include Jane McDonald, The Manfreds & Paul Jones, Joe Brown, Marty Wilde & Charlie Landsborough. In addition top comedy includes Stephen K Amos, Joe Pasquale, Hot Flush starring Lesley Joseph, the return of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues, Clive Mantle as Tommy Cooper and Britain’s King Of Comedy, Ken Dodd.
Throughout the season we present top drama including the regional premiere of Ron Aldridge comedy My Dog’s Got No Nose, Robin Hawdon’s Hilarious The Mating Game and Chilling Thriller The Black Veil.
This years Marina Theatre Pantomime is Cinderella starring Anne Charleston - best known as Madge from Neighbours as the fairy Godmother alongside children’s favourite Dave Benson Phillips as Buttons. Tickets start from just £5.00 with family tickets saving up to £12.00 per booking also available. Produced by UK productions, the company behind a host of major West End and touring shows, Cinderella will be full of music and dance, fun and laughter with fabulous costumes and lavish sets - suitable for all the family this Christmas! By supporting Cinderella, you will be assisting our work at the Marina throughout the year and helping us build our audiences for future generations.
More family entertainment includes the prestigious Birmingham Stage Company with their brand new production of Georges Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl, From C Beebies - Chris & Pui, Noddy, The Little Big Club and Peppa Pig.
In addition the Marina continues to provide a home for amateur dramatics, school and community events and will continue to present the very best in film on our giant cinema screen.
