| Simon Yates first became known as the man who cut the rope holding his friend and climbing partner Joe Simpson during their descent from Peru's Siula Grande in 1985, a story immortalised in the film ‘Touching the Void’. 20 years on, Simon is one of the most successful mountaineers of his time, and is touring the UK with his entertaining and inspiring lecture. In this side splittingly funny romp by Britain's most popular playwright, Alan Ayckbourn, we focus on the riotous goings-on at the School Sports Day, where Celia, the headmaster's wife is attempting to break free from her dreary lifestyle. However, when her choice of business partner is Lionel, the incompetent, school caretaker and groundsman how can she hope to succeed as an independent entrepreneur?
They launch their new enterprise doing the catering in the VIP tea tent under the sceptical eye of her husband Toby. Lionel arrives late with some inedible bread and no cakes causing a crisis in the sandwich department so Celia sets off to find more provisions in the less than roadworthy van they have just bought from a dodgy car dealer. Returning with half a loaf and a packet of jam tarts, things go from bad to worse when Celia's mislaid handbag creates havoc in the Mother's race. Celia gradually loses her cool and becomes increasingly hysterical with ever more hilarious consequences that may all end in madness!

| Following the success of The O’Jays, The Spinners and The Delfonics, the City of Brotherly Love has just enough room for another highly successful soul group. That group came in the form of The Stylistics. Philadelphia-based quartet recorded a remarkable 10 straight-top ten hits during the early 1970’s. They continue to perform as only they can, bringing with them the sweet, soulful memories of year’s past.
