Bruce James Productions proudly present
Doctor In The House

Starring Eric Potts (Diggory Compton from Coronation Street)
as ‘Sir Lancelot Sprat’, Damian Williams and Grace Adams-Short
(Big Brother and Sky One’s Cirque De Celebrite).
We are very proud to announce a major touring production of one of the most well loved comedy series of the 20th century. The original books by Richard Gordon not only spawned several successful plays penned by Ted Willis but also a series of films and a TV sitcom that lasted over a decade in the 1970s. The film version of DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE was the most successful film in Great Britain in 1954 and starred Dirk Bogarde, James Robertson Justice, Kenneth More, Donald Sinden and a young Joan Sims.
This production follows the inexperienced young medical student Simon Sparrow as he begins his five-year internship at St. Swithin’s Teaching Hospital where he continually runs afoul of the irascible head surgeon Sir Lancelot Sprat. His social life is spiced up when Sparrow is taken under the wings of two student repeaters – Tony Grimsdyke and John Evans, who’ve flunked their prelims and are seeking a second chance. The humour is very similar to that of the famous ‘Carry On’ films and as such has delighted audiences all over the world for generations now. This brand new production promises to be no exception as we follow the off duty lives of the medical students – their happy triumphs and brave failures, love affairs and parties.
This is comic nostalgia at its very best and is sure to be as well loved as the original books, films and television episodes have become.

BRUCE JAMES PRODUCTIONS PRESENT
Strangers On A Train
A CLASSIC THRILLER PACKED WITH MYSTERY AND SUSPENSE
Starring Hannah Waterman and Ben Roddy.
Based upon the intriguing novel by the writer of The Talented Mr Ripley, Patricia Highsmith’s powerful and compelling psychological thriller STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, which was famously filmed by Alfred Hitchcock, perfectly captures a growing sense of claustrophobic terror. This gripping new stage adaptation of the classic psychological thriller is sure to keep you in suspense until the very end. Two young men meet on a train, Guy Haines, an ambitious architect, and Charlie Bruno, a mother-fixated playboy with a taste for danger. As the train takes them to their destination, the two travellers speculate upon what it would be like to commit the perfect murder. With a silver tongue Bruno sets up an “unwanted” trade-off whereby he will murder Guy’s errant wife in return for Guy murdering Bruno’s father. The perfect crime, with neither murderer knowing his victim. The innocent Guy doesn’t realise that this casual encounter is deadly serious and is dragged into a downward spiral of nightmarish control and sinister murder plots when Bruno completes his part of the casual bargain and hounds Guy to round the murder circle.
